On-The-Go Gym Bag Essentials

Most days I wake up before the crack of dawn to workout, but often I find myself squeezing a gym session in where I can. But, typically that means I am coming from work, an event or have somewhere to be soon after. Toting around a gym bag, lunch sack with multiple meals and my work backpack is a lot. So what do I do? I keep a bag within my gym bag with some awesome on-the-go essentials!

How to Track Alcohol

It’s the 4th of July and you’re getting ready to head to a party. But, you’re worried about derailing your diet because you aren’t sure how to track your favorite summer cocktail or beer. Fear not! Alcohol can be tracked just like that hot dog and bun you’re planning on eating.

How? Let me tell you!

Prosciutto Cream Cheese Wrapped Asparagus

Last summer, Brett and I traveled to Italy. The history, the beautiful sites and the food are just among a few of the amazing things we got to experience. The gelato and pizza were by far my favorite dishes, but that's to be expected! However, if you asked me if I could bring one dish back to have here it would be the Foccacia Bread we had in Le Spezia, Italy at the Acronia La Cantina - we ate there both nights!

Review: Luv My Skivvies

A few months ago, Sarah, founder of Luv My Skivvies, reached out to me to see if I had any interest in giving her subscription service a try. Of course, I said yes.

The next three months, I received a small envelope in the mail with two styles of skivvies.

Find out what I thought...

Curly Sweet Potato Fries

It's time for another quick and easy recipe: Curly Sweet Potato Fries.

I consider sweet potatoes to be the supreme potato choice. The flavor variations are endless; nutty, sweet or savory. For this week's meal prep, we went with a savory seasoning! Along with the ingredients below, you will need a baking pan and a spiralizer. The spiralizer I have works wonderfully and it's under $30 on Amazon!

10 Grab 'n Go Snacks I Love

I am always hungry. And, I mean ALWAYS. So, it is imperative that I keep a snack on hand at all times. But, when you're out and about, it isn't usually convenient or appropriate to pull out a full meal in a Tupperware container.

I've created a list of my top 10 grab 'n go snacks - all of which can be found on Amazon *click the snack title to find them on Amazon* or at your local grocery store! These snacks will take care of your saltiest and sweetest cravings!

Roasted Carrots

While you'll never see me eating carrots raw, I do enjoy them cooked. The other week my mom was talking about her vegetable soup which got me thinking. I love the way the carrots taste in that soup. They are soft but full off flavor. I wanted a way to enjoy these but in a simpler form. So, I grabbed carrots at the store and decided to roast them.

BBQ Meatloaf Cups

We substituted the ketchup for Stubbs BBQ Sauce and they turned out delicious! Add a little BBQ sauce on top to serve or dip in and wallah! I paired my BBQ Meatloaf Cups with a dollop of mashed potatoes (made with cashew milk to minimize calories) and roasted carrots for an easy but gourmet tasting meal!

Pillsbury Burger Bombs

As my fiance and I headed to dinner Friday night, with rumbling tummies, I couldn't help but rattle off ideas for my upcoming meal prep. I knew I wanted to include some Pillsbury products because who doesn't love a flaky biscuit or warm crescent roll! Am I right? Somehow my hungry imagination thought to put a burger inside a Pillsbury biscuit. So that's exactly what I did!

Review: Quest Cereal Bars

Quest Nutrition was kind enough to send me a sample of all three of their new Quest Cereal Protein Bar Flavors.

I began using Quest products at the beginning of my fitness journey. I was literally obsessed with their bars. However, over time I grew weary of them because of the aftertaste their new formula gave me. Although I occasionally use their protein powders (I just really haven't been drinking or baking with protein since my show prep) and I love their protein chips, I stopped purchasing their bars. However, after seeing so many rave reviews of their cereal bars, I wanted to give Quest another shot at winning me over.

The three cereal protein bar flavors include Chocolate, Waffle and Cinnamon Roll.
